Some US States Are Considering Laws Related To Online Dating Website and Background Checks
Remember the story about Dr. Robert Wells being sued by True.com for concealing his sex offending past? Well, now some US states are considering laws that could help protect the online dating world from predators like Wells. The new laws would require online dating websites to either conduct background checks on all members, or inform website visitors and members that no background checks are performed.
The news laws, if enacted, would surely mean less profits for the owners of online dating sites in the short term, but in the long term the increased security might translate to increased membership rolls.
